Assign one writing prompt a week—they’re designed to be in sync with the events of a teenager’s school year. Each prompt in the book introduces high-frequency vocab and teen-relevant terms, and then gives a few manageable tasks to practice the new words—such as writing a text message, an ad to sell something, a short poem, a mini-story with a particular character or setting, or a fictional conversation between two people.
