It is designed to be simple, lightweight and easy to use. By skillfully combining various techniques such as blue grains, red grains, gold leaf, silver leaf, and transfer painting. The painting is done while taking into consideration the balance with the shape of the teapot.
Not only is it easy to hold and the spout is comfortable, but the reason why Tokoname-yaki teapots are so widely trusted is because of the precision of the tea strainer. This is a traditional technique that Tokoname-yaki teapots are proud of, created by artisans who have competed with each other to perfection.
Tokoname: One of Japan's Six Ancient Kilns, a pottery town with a rich history. Tokoname City, Aichi Prefecture, located on the west coast of the Chita Peninsula facing Ise Bay, is the gateway to Chubu Centrair International Airport. It is a long and narrow area stretching 6km east to west and 16km north to south and is known nationwide as a pottery town. Tokoname-yaki, which has a history spanning 1,000 years, is counted as one of Japan's Six Ancient Kilns.
