Desirable Pecan (Carya illinoinensis) produces large, sweet pecans with thin shells, typically harvested in mid to late fall. Thriving in USDA hardiness zones 6-9 and requiring 600-800 chilling hours, this Type I variety requires pollination with a Type II pecan tree. Best grown in full sun.
