Nestled in the heart of the Combe de Lavaux, Lavaux Saint Jacques is one of the most coveted sites in the appellation, and for good reason: it encompasses a range of seemingly at-odds characteristics with ease, and many consider it a grand cru in all but name. From their three quarters of a hectare of very old vines (between 45 and 95 years old) here, Harmand-Geoffroy produces a wine which matches the Champeaux in its mineral intensity, but with a blacker-fruited, gamier, more wildly spicy personality. 50% new oak.
