This antique brooch is comprised of orange red coral beads with gold gilt leaves. The brooch is from the Georgian era and the coral branches are wired on to the brooch. Italy is home to the finest jewelers creating and carving coral jewelry for hundreds of years. 

We estimate age of the brooch to be around 1920, coral of this type was very popular during Victorian and Georgian times. They thought coral had protective powers. The coral is a natural dark orangey red and is all natural, untreated and not dyed. The beads were hand cut with an even color, they have a smooth polish and shine. It has no visible damage or missing beads.
