Oil, fuel, and other combustion byproducts pass past the piston rings on each stroke. If left unchecked, that blowby will flow into the Camaro's intake and rob the engine of power and efficiency. Our catch can is a little different than most air oil separator (AOS) systems. First, our catch cans are not heated. This means that all blow-by, including low-octane oil vapors and contaminated fuel vapors, can condense inside the can. Also, while most AOS systems drain blowby back into the oil pan, a catch can traps blowby and permanently drains it from the engine. If you've seen what we saw at the bottom of our catch can, you don't want it draining into the oil either.
