Why Do I Need An External Wastegate Blanket?

External wastegate blankets are designed to keep in radiant heat produced by your turbo system.

These work the same way a conventional turbo blanket works, retaining heat from leaking into the engine bay. Our wastegate blankets are designed to be heated, cooled substantially, and held up in the harshest heat cycles. 

A turbocharger fitted creates massive heat in the engine bay, decreasing performance by increasing the intake air temperatures due to heat soak.

External Wastegate Blanket Installation Guide:

Follow these quick and easy steps to install your brand new Exoracing external wastegate blanket correctly:

1. First, make sure your wastegate is cool enough to the touch to work on it.
2. Take the external wastegate blanket and place it around the diaphragm (they are shaped only to fit one way).
3. Use the locking wire to wrap around both hooks on the blanket, pulling it as tightly as necessary.
4. You're all done! Now enjoy reduced engine bay temperatures.
