The Vortex 5C Metric Lathe Collet - Hex - 4mm is a soft emergency collet designed for quick adaptation in 5C lathe setups. Its borable material lets you tailor the bore to size, depth, taper, or shape to fit a specific component, delivering a precise, custom-fit grip.

During boring in a 5C lathe collet chuck, pins are fitted to keep the collet open, enabling safe and controlled shaping. When the job is complete, the collet can be re-bored many times to hold larger parts, allowing you to reuse the same piece and avoid discarding the pins.
