Intricately carved Angelskin Coral Rabbit pendant bead. This is a vintage Japanese figural piece, is in the form of a sitting rabbit or hare. It is a light pink color, with some splashes of darker pink. He has large floppy ears that are set back. There is a hole straight through the middle of the rabbits back. One of a kind piece expertly carved from a single piece of natural coral that has not been dyed. It is 29mm long and sits 15mm high. 

The rabbit holds a special meaning in many cultures. Japanese think of the rabbit on the moon as constantly making mochi, the pounded rice cakes they enjoy at the New Year. Besides being symbols of peace, docility and cuteness, they are also considered by many to be lucky.
