Handwoven vintage Persian rug

Handwoven wool low pile Persian mini rug. Measures 2’1”x1’4”. Features a repetition of boteh motifs. This rug has a taupe field with pops of indigo, emerald gree, terracottas, and mustard yellow. The rug is in good vintage condition.

The boteh motif is a common and significant design element found in Persian carpets, textiles, and artwork. It is often described as a teardrop or leaf-like shape, resembling a pinecone or flame. Over time, the motif has become widely recognized and adapted across various cultures, particularly in South Asia, where it evolved into the well-known paisley pattern.
