To test the PCV valve, start the engine, pull the valve out of the valve cover, and place your thumb over the last hole. If you hear a slight click, the PCV valve is good. If there is no vacuum in the hole, either the valve is bad or the hose is bad. To check if the hose is bad, remove it and put your thumb over the end. If there is a vacuum, replace the PCV valve. If not, replace the hose. Please note that PCV valves are sized appropriately for specific engine applications.
