Known as the original skate shoe, Vans was founded on March 16, 1966 in the city of Anaheim, California when Paul Van Doren along with 3 partners opened up their first store. The Van Doren Rubber Company was unique in that it manufactured shoes and sold them directly to the public. On their first morning, 12 customers purchased Vans deck shoes — now famously known as the Authentic. The classic skate brand dynamically grew throughout the 70's and 80's and has helped the sport of skateboarding conquer the world. 

Style 93, otherwise known as the Vans Mary Jane, debuted around 1994 and flourished as a popular style tapping into retro nostalgia and a playful interpretation of femininity.
